Nowadays higher education becomes very popular among the people. But obtaining of the university degree is very expensive and majority of the students cannot cover all studying expenses. Because of it many students have to apply for different types of financial aid. There are three main types of financial aid for students: student`s grants, scholarships and loans. The grants and scholarships are most popular and advantageous for the students as they must not be repaid after graduation. The sum of the given grant and scholarship depends on many factors, such as level of tuition fee, level of annual income of the family, financial need of the candidate, etc.

To receive the students grants and scholarships the students have to fill in the application form and pass through all stages of the application process. There are two main types of grants: federal grants and grants from the private sponsors.

Besides, additional information can be received in the counselor`s offices and financial aid departments of the educational institutions.

The application process for the student`s grants receiving is usually complicated and continuous and it is desirable to fill in and to send an application process beforehand. Usually those people who apply for the grants as soon as possible have better chances to win. Besides the application from the providers of the grants usually require also other documents, such as document about taxes and financial situation of the candidate, writing essay, etc. The application must usually be sent till the January the 1st.
