Three Types of Student`s Financial Aid

Nowadays many people have a desire to obtain university degree. But higher education is very expensive. Besides tuition fee there are also other types of expenses, which the students have to cover. They are: book fee, living expenses, accommodation, transportation, insurance, etc. Because of it majority of the students have to apply for different types of financial aid for students. Main provides of the financial aid for students are: government bodies and agencies, private sponsors, different funds, etc. There are three main types of financial aid for students: student`s loans, grants and scholarships.

When money for studying is borrowed, it is a loan. The loans must be repaid after graduation and the students usually collide because of it with huge debts. The students can receive all essential information about the loans for studying in the internet on the website www.fafsa.ed.gov, in banks or in the school counselor offices. There are two types of student’s loans: federal loans and private loans. Government loans are more advantageous, as they usually provide better conditions and low level of interest rates. In the same time application process for the receiving of the private loans is very complicated and some students prefer to apply for the loans of the private lenders.

The second type of the financial aid for students is the grant. It means that the money for studying are free and it must not be repaid. Usually those students who have good academic grades and who have low level of family income have good chances to receive student’s grant. The sum of grant depends on the sponsor, candidate and on the goal of the grant program.

The third type of financial aid for students is student`s scholarship. The scholarships are based on the excellent knowledge and skills of the students and their talents. There are particular requirements for the candidates. The scholarships must not be repaid as well as the grants. The students can receive all essential information about the scholarships in the school counselor’s office and on the website www.fastweb.com. There are also two types of scholarships: school scholarships and scholarships from the private sponsors.
